How can the Alopecia Meditation help?

I hope you have listened to the Alopecia Meditation on my home page and joined in with us every day at 8.10am Sydney, Australia time. Below is some information that will help answer any questions you have on meditation and help you grow back your hair. These have been lovingly written by my amazing friend Indra Prem.

“Thank you Indra Prem, I am so grateful to have you in my life”.

I have tried everything! Why will your meditation grow back my hair?
Meditation heals the body by getting the conscious mind out of the way, allowing the subconscious mind to heal. It is a simple tool that puts you in control of your health.

Why do affirmation work?
Simply put – A repetitive thought becomes a belief, and all beliefs impact the body. For example, if you say to yourself, “I am not beautiful,” and you keep repeating it, it becomes a belief. Your subconscious mind wants to prove to you that that belief is correct, and it will do so by giving you acne or putting on weight or losing your hair. Your mind is saying, “See I told you I am not beautiful.” But the reverse is also true, if you can get your conscious mind out of the way (through meditation) you have direct access to the subconscious mind. Then by repeating affirmations, the subconscious mind will want to prove to you that what you are saying is correct and so the acne goes, the weight diminishes and the hair grows back. The affirmations in this meditation are specifically for many of the beliefs people with alopecia have.

Is this meditation guaranteed to work?
That depends on you. How committed are you? If your hair is not growing back then do the meditation more times a day. The more you do it, the quicker you will believe the affirmations and the sooner your hair will start to grow.

What if I am committed and my hair still doesn’t grow back?
A contributing factor to alopecia is stress, and when your hair falls out the stress is then compounded. Like a flame to an ice block, meditation dissolves stress. So at the very least you’ve taken away one of the contributing factors.

Beliefs are another contributing factor. In this meditation I have addressed the most common reasons why hair falls out. If this meditation isn’t working it means the underlying issue hasn’t been addressed. For instance, one cause of alopecia can be that you are missing a loved one. Look at who it is and then work out how you can bring that person back into your life or choose to let them go. Come up with your own affirmation about the situation.

If I don’t believe this meditation is going to bring back my hair, will it still work?  Yes. But you must be committed to doing it daily. It is not so good if you do it once every now and again. But even that is better than nothing.

How do I do this meditation?
Lie on your back in your bed or better still, outside somewhere amongst nature. Make sure you will not be disturbed. It is preferable to listen to this meditation using head phones, noise cancellation ones are best. You will be asked to repeat specific affirmations, do it with as much feeling as you can. For example, “I am beautiful.” Feel yourself as being beautiful.

What if I don’t believe I am beautiful?
All the more reason to say it. If you can’t repeat the affirmation, start by listening to it, work up to whispering and from there – say it. The more you repeat the affirmation with feeling, the sooner the mind believes it, and the sooner your hair will grow back.

How often should I do this meditation?
At least once a day, for a minimum of 40 days.

What if I don’t have the time to do this meditation every day?
If growing your hair back is a priority then make it so. One option is to get up earlier in the morning. The meditation takes only 13 minutes of your time. Is getting your hair back worth that?

What happens after the 40 days?
Keep doing the meditation. If you miss a day here and there it is not as important.

When is the best time to do this meditation?
It is preferable to do it first thing in the morning before the mind starts its chatter. The mind generates thousands of thoughts per second and they are often negative. If you can meditate saying positive affirmations, you will start your day positively and this will carry you through the rest of the day.

It is also preferable to practice this meditation with your local alopecia group. The Sydney group meditate at 8.10am every morning. There are also groups in the USA and UK.

What is the advantage of meditating in the morning?
Your mind is clear after the nights sleep, so it is very receptive to new information. It is advantageous for you to have your alarm set for the same time each morning. This then becomes a routine and prepares the mind for relaxation, which makes the experience effortless. Also it shows commitment, if you don’t have a set time, the mind can come up with many excuses on why you should not do it.

What is the advantage of meditating as part of a group?
People who meditate in groups get into a deeper, more profound state and most can feel the connection to the others. Through this connection you are able to raise each other up. When you meditate as a group, whether you live in the same suburb or the other side of the world, the effect becomes multiplied by the number of people participating.

There has been a lot of research on the effects of group meditation. To give one example: In England there was an experiment done – it was called The Maharishi Effect. Two groups in two different towns were assembled, one was to meditate on dropping the crime rate the other was the control group and did nothing. Later when the two towns were compared they found that the town with the non-meditators had the same crime rate. However the other town, which had 1% of the population meditating at the same time each day, had a dramatic decrease in crime. It went from the third highest crime rate in England to the lowest. Meditation has the power to change the world.

The meditation says, “Feel the connection to the others in this group.”  Plus later in the meditation it says – “See yourself in a room with all the others in your group.” What if I can’t feel or see the group, does it matter?
Just by hearing the words your subconscious mind has connected you. It doesn’t matter if the conscious mind gets it.

With the time zone differences, what if the meditation group is not doing it first thing in the morning?
It would be advantageous to do the meditation first thing in the morning AND again with your group. The more you do this meditation the better, it has an exponential effect. If you don’t have the time to do both, see if you can start up your own group in your time zone or you could form a group where everyone meditates on their specific health issue.

If I have to chose between the morning meditation and the group one, which one should I chose?
Do the group meditation, but on awakening do a mini meditation and repeat some of the positive affirmations.

What if I fall asleep?
It is better if you stay awake so that you can repeat the affirmations but if you do fall asleep your subconscious is still listening.

What if I don’t enjoy meditating?
This meditation should make you feel blissful. If it doesn’t, keep doing it, you will start to enjoy it over time. If you can’t concentrate and your mind drifts, don’t worry, it is still doing it’s job.

Can meditation be bad for you?
No. At the very least, it will make you feel less stressed.

Is there anything else I can do to help my hair grow back faster?
In this blog you will see an article written by me about the healing power of a mother’s touch. Please read it. If you do the meditation while your mother has her hands on your head, it will be so much more powerful.

What if I am out and I don’t have your recording, can I do my own meditation?
Yes of course, and it is not limited to visualising yourself looking into the mirror. Two other examples could be:
1. You are walking along a nature trail and you see a pond, you look into it and see your reflection, you admire how wonderful your hair looks.
2. You are at a party and all your friends are coming up to you and admiring how beautiful your hair is.

Try and include as many senses as you possibly can. See the people – who is there? What are they wearing?… Smell the air – what is that aroma? Fresh bread, eucalyptus trees…Touch your head, how does it feel. The mind cannot tell the difference between your imagination and reality, so when it experiences something, it then brings it into reality.

How long will it take for my hair to grow back?
Depends on how vigilant you are in doing the meditation but also on how deep the beliefs are. Nine year old Holly had alopecia for 2 1/2 years, only one week of doing this meditation, new growth was seen. Children are faster to heal, so if you don’t see results as quick as you expected, please don’t lose hope, it is working. The most important thing is to trust yourself and the process, your hair will grow back in its own good timing.

Why do children respond faster than adults?
A child has had the belief for a limited amount of time, whereas an adult has walked the same track over and over in their mind for years, often decades. The deeper the groove and the longer it takes to heal.

How do I get my daughter with Alopecia to do the meditation?
Have her lie down with her head in your lap, place your hands on the area of her head where you wish the hair to grow. Listen to the meditation and repeat the affirmations with her.

I am so upset that I have this disease, sometimes I get in quite a rage. What can I do about it?
You have two choices:
1. You can be mad with your body and feel that it has betrayed you. But the more you fight something the more it hangs on – what you resist persists. Or….
2. You can thank your body. It has shown you that there are stored emotions that need to be dealt with, how lucky are you? Deal with the emotions and your body will respond positively.

What can I do to see alopecia as being a positive experience?
Get a piece of paper and write down all you have learnt from it. Maybe you found out who your friends really were, maybe you have taken to a healthier lifestyle, maybe you have found spirituality. The more reasons you list on why alopecia has been a blessing, all the better. Here are two to start you off:
1. I have come across this blog and have found how great it is to be part of a community.
2. Through doing this meditation I will discover the power of my subconscious mind. If I can bring hair into existence, what else can I create?

Who are you? Why should I believe you?
My name is Indra Prem and I am a Kundalini Yoga teacher. In March 2015 I had an amazing experience, because of it I found I knew things about people and was able to heal them. So, to my surprise, I became an intuitive healer.

A year later I met Joanne Mussalli (the woman who has put this blog together). She expressed to me the frustration of having Alopecia, I did a healing on her which helped some of the emotional issues she was going through.

Later I met 9 year Holly who also had Alopecia. I told the young girl to meditate every morning for 11 minutes and her hair would grow back. I passed the information onto Jo and recommended she do the same. She tried it but reported back that she found it difficult to concentrate and remember the things I had told her to say to herself.

A few days later I awoke 1.30am, I grabbed a pen and paper and madly wrote down all the affirmations that needed to be said for the Alopecia Meditation. I was also told that certain fruit and vegetable juiced can help hair growth. I checked with Google, which confirmed all the ingredients given to me were, in fact, beneficial for making new hair. I was also told that it would be best if I recorded a meditation, using my voice. I have never done anything like this before but how hard could it be?…A lot harder than I expected. I spent a day trying to make the recording. I had every interruption under the sun; dogs barking, grandchildren thumping, kookaburra’s laughing, a coughing fit, etc etc. At 11pm I finally gave up.

Next morning I awoke at 1.30am (again), I couldn’t go back to sleep so I meditated. After two hours of the deepest trance I knew it was the right time to record the meditation, and it was done. The crystal bowls you hear playing in the background were played by myself and a close friend (who is also a healer), we asked before playing them that we be guided to play the right notes to help people grow back their hair.

I have spent an enormous amount of time on this and there is no monetary gain in this for me whatsoever. I just want is see people who are in the same situation as my beautiful friend Joanne, regain their hair, and with it their self esteem. I believe that we are all connected, so as each individual is raised so too is humanity.

I would love to hear your progress. In fact, PLEASE share all new growth with your group or on this blog. When others hear of your success it excites them and gives them hope.

Wishing you all the very best on this exciting ride, called life.
Indra Prem

    1. Thanks so much Paula. I’ve been practising it for over two weeks twice a day now and the sides of my hair are coming back in. Can you get your daughter to practise it also? Jo
